In keeping with SPSI’s philosophy to invest in local hires, SPSI hosted a shop tour and lunch meeting with a local high school weld class. They learned about our Apprentice Program and met with our Plant Manager and Director of Human Resources. Alliance H.S. welding teacher Steve Fusion said that most of his juniors work in the summer and most of his seniors work full time at local companies. This year he has 12 seniors and 17 juniors in his class. Some of the students gave their resumes while they were here and others applied online on our website.

Our Apprentice Program is a two year program dedicated to providing individual students with a solid occupational education with many diverse employment opportunities for today’s practical welding industry needs. In addition, there has been a 100% placement of participants for on the job training within SPSI’s operations during the student’s participation in the program.
